We had Maid in BC scheduled to do a deep, move-in ready cleaning in the house we were moving into, but we had to CX due to a crazy schedule on our end.  But Darcy (with Maid in BC) was absolutely easy to work with!  She was able to rearrange days for us a couple of times, which was extremely kind.  The questions she asked ahead of time (before the cleaning) showed she was a very organized person.  We would have greatly looked fwd to meeting her/her team if we did not have to CX. I reached out to Maid in Battle Creek to help my mom with a deep clean. Communication leading up to the walkthrough was professional, which is why I’m giving two stars instead of one.

However, my mom felt uncomfortable during the walkthrough due to the overall vibe and tone. Afterward, we received a message declining service and stating they couldn’t provide a quote because of “debris” and personal belongings on surfaces, adding that they don’t offer organizing services.

For the record, my mother’s home does not contain debris or junk—just everyday items like books and papers. We understand that cleaning companies don’t organize, but there was a better way to approach this. A quote could have still been provided with the understanding that items would be cleared prior to cleaning day.

The refusal to offer any quote at all came across as unprofessional and gave the impression they simply didn’t want to take on this particular job. It’s disappointing and felt unnecessarily dismissive.

EDIT: I stand by my concerns. While I understand the need to see surfaces to provide a quote, the description of her home as “heavily covered” with personal items is exaggerated. It’s also disappointing that no alternative solution was offered — such as rescheduling the quote after surfaces were cleared — rather than closing the door entirely.

We weren't expecting organizing services; we were simply hoping for a proper cleaning service. The experience gave the impression that you weren’t willing to work with certain households, which felt unnecessarily dismissive.

Darcy, Todd and Emily were awesome!
This was the first time having them clean for me. When I walked in my home, I was so excited to have it cleaned and it smelled wonderful. I was amazed. They were very nice and professional. Darcy and Todd went through the whole house top to bottom, to make sure, my expectations were met. This was a move in clean and they definitely went above and beyond. I am hiring them to do maintenance clean after I move in. I definitely would recommend them to anyone that wants their home professionally cleaned. They are a great small business company.
